- King’s Landing
The main seat of house Lannister boasts breathtaking views and clear blue seas. King’s Landing is actually the city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, and has been used for a multitude of scenes throughout the series.
2. Daenerys and Khal Drogo’s Wedding
One of the first truly memorable scenes early on in the series was actually filmed on a beach in Gozo, Malta. The rock formation in the background of the scene is known as the Azure Window.
3. Doran Palace Gardens
House of the Tyrell’s, this setting features prominently in season 3. It serves as the general setting for the famous battle (not for the squeamish) between Oberyn Martell and The Mountain. This location is the real-world gardens of the Alcázar of Seville, Spain.
4. Kingsroad
Upon escaping King’s Landing, Ayra Stark travels along a path known as Kingsroad. This is actually a picturesque road near Stranocum, in Northern Ireland.
5. The Walk of Atonement
The setting of a cinematic scene where Queen Margaery is about to begin the walk of Atonement, only to be saved by Jamie Lannister on horseback is actually filmed at Girona Cathedral in Spain.
